A friend invited my son Christopher to use the free trial at the U.S. Taekwondo Academy. Christopher had been trying different sports and I thought it’d be good for him to give this a try. I took him to his first trial class. When we arrived they encouraged me to give it a shot too. After all, it was free to try. So I did. After just one class Christopher and I both loved it. We went home talking all about it and my daughter, looking jealous, exclaimed that she wanted to try too. That’s how it all started. My wife was a bit more reluctant, but she soon also found it to be an excellent program.

The benefits have been numerous. When I started I was suffering back pain that prevented me from standing for long periods of time. That pain is now gone. I can tell that my whole family is shaping up and we’re always in a better mood after even the most strenuous class. Our children are heading into their early teen years and at this age there is very little we can do together as a family. But this is one activity we can enjoy and experience together.

The instruction is excellent. Master Atoun and Master Alsharif are so encouraging. They have an uncanny ability to stretch us beyond what we perceive to be our limits in order to bring out our best without ever deriding or being harsh in any way. Young or old, it doesn’t matter, everyone gets the best instruction and the results are amazing.

About a year ago, I started looking for a Martial Arts School for my Grandson. After exploring several options, we chose USTA.   Being around and involved in Tae kwon do for the last 30 years, I know what a positive influence it can be on the development of a child’s Self-Confidence, Self-Control, Self-Improvement and Maturity with the right guidance.   I just wanted to take a moment to thank you, Master Atoun and Master Alsharif for exceeding my expectations.  I have seen my Grandson, along with many more students, start down the road of developing Self-Confidence, Self-Control, Self-Improvement and Maturity.  I believe this is because of your patience, commitment, compassion, respect and love for the children. Your experience and expertise in the Martial Arts also played a dominant role in your success.   I am proud to be a part of the USTA Family.

My name is Karen Baskett and I am a 31 yr old mother of 3 VERY active kids and I have the most wonderful and supportive husband in the world! I have been enrolled at USTA for about 8 months and my overall experience with martial arts has taught me so much about myself. I have developed more physical strength than ever before, confidence and self esteem that I was lacking, and more self discipline.  This has been a wonderful, positive experience and I look forward to learning and growing even more!  Master Atoun and Master Alsharif are so dedicated to making each and every class as positive and upbeat as possible. My oldest son has been with them since the first month they opened the doors and they have had a huge impact on his life! Thanks guys for everything you do!

We highly recommend USTA Academy!  The students learn great martial arts skills but more importantly, coaches Fuoad Atoun and Ezzedeen Alsharif promote character and life building skills that are often absent in many programs.  They keep the classes varied and challenging that stimulate the students’ interest and keeps them excited about pursuing their goals.  Classes are orderly and well structured and the level of care and personal attention from the coaches is always apparent.  Students are never merely a number but obviously well known by their instructors.  The 3 year Black Belt incentive is a great idea.  After many years of TKD and numerous studios, our son is happily and determinedly sticking it out at USTA Academy and well on his way to his Black Belt.

I think the USTA and its instructors are very experienced in the way they operate the academy and teach our kids not only martial arts, but the values of life, respect, and the importance of school. That's very important in a young kids life.

My son Joshua, joined USTA in March of '07.  Our family witnessed an immediate change in Joshua's confidence level, attitude  and willingness to help others!  Joshua looks forward to his classes twice a week with his talented Masters.

As a mother of 3 boys, I would highly recommend USTA to everyone!  Master Atoun and Master Alsharif are clearly on the Quest to teach their students to be the BEST!

Best Wishes,
Cindy Villela

My son, Parker and I take Tae Kwon Do lessons together and we enjoy it so much!  My physical strength and endurance capabilities have increased along with my focus and self-confidence.  I enjoy learning all aspects of a new belt level and look forward to the new challenges.  Character development is such a crucial element of our training and we apply many aspect of what we learn to our daily lives.  In learning to set short term goals we have been able to conquer many tasks that seemed impossible to accomplish, including things in and out of class.  We would not have achieved any of this if it weren't for our incredible instructors.  I knew from watching Master Atuon and Master Alsharif interact with the kids in our first "trial" class that this was something I wanted myself and my son to be a part of.  Their passion for martial art and love of kids is what sets them apart from the others. In each class, we work hard, learn something new, make friends and laugh a lot.  We are truly blessed to be part of something so special!

My Tae Kwon Do journey started about 8 months ago. For me, the interest in Martial Arts has been life long. I spent a month looking at several schools, something to fit my goals and schedule. After talking to Master Atoun and Master Alsharif and explaining my desires and goals I knew immediately that USTA was the right choice for me. Now that I have completed my 8 months of training my stamina has increased, my strength has increased, I have greater discipline, I am much more confident, and I give and have gained the respect of my fellow students. These things have improved my everyday life as well as my work place atmosphere; this has made me a better person.

Both Master Atoun and Master Alsharif are knowledgeable, loyal, consistent, helpful, and willing to go that extra mile either in the Dojo or in our personal life. What I’ve learned to this day, I attribute to their energy, patience and skills.

Besides commonly known benefits of Tae Kwon Do like development of stamina, improvement of balance, flexibility….., USTA Tae Kwon Do teaches it’s students much more valuable lessons; it allows you to keep a positive outlook towards life at all times, respect with your friends and opponents, and strongly emphasizing the main goal of the school; that the practice of Tae Kwon Do builds a solid foundation for a healthier and happier life and to carry this devotion to continuing physical and mental exercise through their entire living. My goal is to go beyond Black Belt and hopefully one day I will be able to use what I have learned and pass it on to future generations.

I want everyone who reads this to know that USTA has changed my life for the better. I have been a member since April 2006. I originally joined to support my son, But after the first lesson, I was hooked. I am now attending classes up to 4 times per wk. I have noticed a HUGE difference with my energy level, focus and confidence. I am able to accomplish more things at work; I play with with my kids more; most importantly, I SMILE more!

Master Atoun and Master Alsharif do a great job of supporting and motivating their students to be the best they can be.  Tae Kwon do is not just learning kicks, it is also about improving your quality of life.  The instructors put a huge emphasis on respect. All students of USTA must be respectful to each other, as well as to their parents and teachers at school.  Master Atoun and Master Alsharif take a lot of pride in their academy, and they prove this everyday with their commitment to the students and family members of USTA.  I am extremely proud to say that I AM A MEMBER OF USTA.
