SUMMARY:School Closed-Eid Aldha
DESCRIPTION:Eid al–Adha (also known as the Festival of Sacrifice) is an Islamic festival celebrated by Muslims to commemorate the willingness of the Prophet Abraham to obey Allah and to sacrifice his only son\, Ishmael. It is one of the two most important religious holidays in the Islamic calendar\, the other being Eid al–Fitr. The three–day festival begins with a communal prayer on the first day\, and ends with the traditional animal sacrifice\, with its meat divided among the poor\, family and friends. On the second day\, the meat is usually eaten and the day is generally spent visiting with family and friends. On the third day\, special charity offerings are made and people again visit each other to enjoy a special feast and celebrate the festival. Eid al–Adha celebrates the sacrifice that Prophet Abraham made in obedience to God. It is believed that Prophet Ibrahim was not able to sacrifice his son for God\, but instead God sent a lamb to take his place. The story of this sacrifice is a reminder of the power of faith and obedience. Eid al–Adha also symbolizes a beginning of a new spiritual journey of selflessness and devotion. Eid al–Adha is marked by special prayers\, followed by traditional sweets and dishes made
